Whatcha’ working on?

I am so far behind. I am working on a lot and getting a little done. Too many hours at work and too many sick kids. My oldest was out for 5 days, my son was out for 3 and now it is the little ones turn tomorrow. Poor kids.

But I did get a little chance to work on some things in between my headaches today. I will give you just a little peek.

I also started going through fabric this morning. Going through it to start listing it for sale that is. I started on the Quilt Gate Robert Kaufman line Mary Rose. I have probably 5-6 of the lines and have no clue why I got them besides they are just very pretty. Maybe I was thinking the girls would want something made from it. I will say they over-dye well. Tomorrow I hoping to cut them into half yards and I am going to over dye some. They would also make pretty dresses for dolls.I started at this section of my shelves and just started pulling out fabric. Here is a shot of a couple piles.

017018

Here are some of the Mary Rose I have found so far.

023

I also stitched up and added a little color to a sketch Alice had drawn. I am going to make it into a scrappy baby doll quilt for her babies. It is a squirrel dancing by the light of the moon, on a tree limb.

024

I am about to list a couple items on Etsy that I had made a while back. One is a wall hanging that measures 17 1/2 x 20 1/2. It was a design I made up when I worked at the quilt store to show how to use the quilted texture background fabric and the lace sashing.

026029

I am also going to list a little doll who has been waiting for a purse to be completed to hold her. That is not going to happen so I thought I would go ahead and list her.

030

That is it for now. I would love to hear about the projects you are working on.

Have a great evening and you guys with all the snow stay warm, take a seat by a lamp and get your stitching on!

Quilt Patterns

Well I have tried again without success to upload images to EBay, not working. I did list some quilt patterns, without their pictures. I will edit when I can and put the pictures on slowly.

UPDATE: I got it working, I am so excited – I opened the internet in Google Chrome instead of Explorer and the uploader in EBay worked fine!!

Here are the ones I have listed on EBay.

Dealing with Issues

Okay, I love Blogger for the free services they provide but I am very frustrated today. I cannot update my Things for sale tab with pictures or formatting and it is driving me crazy. It is probably only driving me nutty because EBay is driving me nutty. I can only add one item every 30 minutes or so and I have to go completely out of it and sign back in to add the next item. So it has taken me 2 days to put on 5 punch needle patterns. I am working through it, “In with the good, out with bad.”

I know some people do not care for EBay, I have had okay luck selling there. Better than I have on my blog. I had a bad experience on Etsy and I do not think I will go there again, but time may tell.

Point of this post is, if you are interested in my For Sale items, there are pictures on my selling blog or you can go straight to EBay. I changed some of the prices when I put them on EBay so take a look if you please!!! Thank you so much and I will not bug you again about my selling issues.

Natalie is very sick, I took her to the doctor yesterday and of course the doctor just said its viral, just rest. Some of her best friends at school have the flu. I also went back for my ear issues I had written about a while back in May or something. Well they never went away and I have just been dealing with the dizziness, nausea, ear thumping and pain. (As I do which always makes matters worse). The doctor said my ear drum looked like a balloon and put me back on Prednisone and anti-inflammatory medication daily. I saw a different doctor this time and she again said I have Meniere’s but is sending me to an ear specialist. I had gone to the ENT, who basically said I had a viral infection in my ear (yeah for 9 months now).  My doctor said the ENT is not an ear specialist and does not know much of anything – no she didn’t say that, she just said the ear specialist will know more about the ear.

I know from this post it sounds all sad and blue here but we are not really. Things are going good, we are all dealing well with our loss and if the sickies would just go away we would be even better.

Have a great day and I hope you find a little stitching time. I am hoping to today or tonight!!

Swap Received

I received my package from Kookie (aka Bailey) for the Prim Pals Won’t You Be My Valentine Swap.  Isn’t it great!!! I was so happy to get another package in the mail. The little mouse in the heart is precious!

009

I have not posted her package because I was a bad partner and sent hers off Friday morning. I was several days late. I cannot wait for her to get it!!

I finished up a couple stitcheries, they are little and might be pin cushions or something. I haven’t decided or had time to figure it out yet. The first one is a free download from Bird in the Hand Primitives, Robin is very generous and is forever coming up with the greatest designs, you can embroider them, make a doll from some, punch needle them, wool applique, they are the greatest designs.

011

Here is the second one and it is from the same site the button pillow came from here. Again another generous talented woman.

014

I wanted to mention another little tid-bit about the Thelma situation and then I will not bug you any longer about it. Some of you already know the story but I wanted to mention it for the ones who don’t. Tuesday night I could not sleep and I stayed up late quilting and crying and praying. I was praying for some type of sign that my husbands idea that an owl got Thelma was true. I mean there is really no other explanation that makes sense, even though the owl deal wasn’t making sense to me.

Well, Wednesday I still couldn’t sleep so I was looking at the news on line and came across an article from Chicago where apparently a Chihuahua was attacked while its owner was walking it, on a leash, the owl tried to carry the poor little pup off. The owner was able to scare the owl off and the pup survived. I thought that was pretty weird, how often do you see an article on the news about that.

But the story does not end there.  I took Louise, Thelma's’ sister, out with me when I was checking the mail. She was walking right beside me and then we heard this, “hoo-hoo” of the owl. Louise cowered down on the ground and let out a cry. I picked her up really fast and looked up and saw the owl in the tree in my neighbors yard. I hear the owls all the time and the kids and I always try to find them just because, but we never do. So I ran Louise inside and grabbed the camera, it’s lucky that is all I grabbed. I came back out and it hooted again but flew away before I could get a picture of him. Why did I want a picture, I don’t know, to prove I wasn’t crazy I guess. Here is the tree.

001

So I got my proof and as crazy as it seems, I find peace in that and I am sad, very very sad Thelma is gone but I think she is safe and no longer hurting. Her legs and hips are not hurting and she is up in heaven with our guinea pigs Harry and Snowball. She is up there running from them, she was always scared of them, silly dog. I was going to say I have not cried since Wednesday but now I am crying so forget about that.

I am scared I am going to become a crazed owl stalker kind of like Bill Murray in “Ground Hog Day.” I already told the kids I am getting rid of all my owl fabric – I have a lot of owl fabric!

Okay – happy thoughts. Off to bed. Have a great weekend. I will be working Sad smile!!

One day at a time!

If you know me – you know I love mail. I especially love it when it is a surprise and from one of my great friends, April, she finds the cutest stuff. This is not primitive stuff , but very cute stuff. Yesterday we received a package all the way from Japan.

008

First off is this Kit-Kat, Natalie was the first to see it and ran off with it. She came back a few minutes later and said, “Taste this, what is it.” I was thinking it was going to be mint because it was a green wrapper, I took a bite and couldn’t figure it out and then it hit me, Wasabi, you know the horseradish stuff you get with sushi. Weird , very weird chocolate and wasabi.

Then there is all of this happy goodness!!

012

021023022014017018019020

Look at these cuties!

024

And these are made out of wood!

025

Of course I had to wash everything right away so Alice could try it out with some yummy French toast sticks.

026

I stayed up all night, I cut out three small quilts in between crying bouts. I am such a wimp. Anyway, I had this packaged up for  about 3 years. I had enough fabric for all three quilts. I pieced one, this one I actually cut out two of the same.

015

I was only able to piece together three from the other quilt. They are 4 1/2 inches square. I love how they turned out. There will be 12 all together, I am doing four of each one That is all I am telling you about it for now.

010

Well, I guess I should go to bed. I hope you have a great day and find a little stitching time.
