Hey all!!

Today is an awesome day! First off it is my son Gordon’s 11th birthday. Happy Birthday Gordon!!!! His father and I gave him a choice of what he wanted for lunch today, anything he wanted, he chose Arby’s. He got a large roast beef sandwich, I think the thing weighed 3 pounds. Then he went and spent some gift card money and bought a new video game. He is having a small bowling party with his friends this weekend.

The second big to-do is I set up my booth today. It is not real huge but it is bigger that the shelf. The pictures are not the best but it does look real cute in person. I combined it with hand made items, antiques and various other things. I am hoping it will be all hand made items soon.  I had a purse there I had made several years back and never put up for sale, it was a big hit and people are begging for more. I am thinking the less “prim” items are going to be the bigger sellers here. But that is fine I enjoy making those also. Here are some pictures.

I finished some stitcheries that I need to complete into something this weekend and get to my booth.

A friend and I did a little trade/sale thing. I was supposed to just get the little black bunny make-do below but she included one of her newest bunnies with it. I was so happy when I saw that little fuzzy face in the box, my husband thought I was crazy screaming like a banshee. Thank you Jenn, you are awesome! You can find her designs here.

Look what I got today from my very talented friend!!!!Thank you Jenn - your are the best!!!!

I finished up the final couch pillow cover for my friend.

Bun Bun

Who is that in the cabbage patch? It is "Bun Bun" a 9" weighted bunny handmade by me using a pattern by Chickadee Primitives. Come check him out along with the other listings by the talented artists at The Olde Primitive Peddler.

Well I am off to cut the grass/weeds. Hopefully my allergies wont get all crazy. I will try to wear one of my little masks but it might be too hot for that. We will see.

I hope you are having a great week and finding a little stitching time.

Fitbit

I have to tell you about this amazing little gadget I got.  When we got our taxes back my husband and I both got a little bit to splurge. I spent all of mine on one thing. It is called a Fitbit. It is a little pedometer on steroids.

469333_3546059937083_1440087673_33518216_2097051412_o

It records your steps, miles, calories burned, activity level, how many floors you have climbed, the time, has a timer on it and monitors your sleep activity (telling you how active you are while you are sleeping). It is awesome. If it just had a heart rate monitor on it it would be perfect. It syncs with the computer and you can monitor everything on line. Well I am addicted, I think it must be tainted with some type of habit forming drug.

It also gives you goals that you have to reach.  Like in the beginning my step goal is 10,000 steps, you have a calorie burn goal, a mile goal, a floors climbed goal and an active score.  What makes it so addicting for me is once I reach one goal or am close to reaching the goal, I want to keep walking to reach the goal or to obtain one of the other goals. Then once I reach it I may get closer to reaching another goal and the process  starts all over for me. I am always trying to reach a new goal.

I am a very sedentary person, between my job and sewing so I needed this push. I am constantly walking around my desk or the conference table at work, or just going up and down stairs to get more floors in. I am in love. I have had it 3-4 weeks and at first it was a struggle to get 10,000 steps in a day but now I am doing almost 12,0000 with no issues. It is a bit pricey, it is around 100 dollars but for me, it was so worth it. If you are interested in checking it out here is the link.

I hope you are having a good week so far and finding a little stitching time!!

Slacker!

You can call me that, I did it again. I have been totally slacking on my blog updates. I apologize, no excuse is good enough.

I have lots of completed projects to show you. And I have more in the works.

Here is a custom order I am working on, I still have one pillow to be finished. Just haven’t had the time to get more fabric for the last pillow. I covered her large couch pillows with Prairie Cloth and added a stitchery on the front.

I had a custom order from one of my Facebook friends for her wedding vows to be hand stitched. Although I do enjoy embroidery, I do not love doing letters. I was happy to do them for her but it took much longer than I had anticipated.

I had a request to do another bunny like the swap bunny and I was lucky enough to find my pattern I had drawn out.

IMG_2285

I also finished up a pillow that I had started years ago. One of my favorite customers bought it as soon as it was listed.

IMG_2275

I also had this little pig stitched up and finished it into a little pillow tuck and I finished up this wall hanging/table topper also. They both will be going to my “shelf” at the local consignment shop K’nB’s.

Here is a picture of my shelf at the shop. The items on it are not mine, I took this picture before I brought my items in. I have already sold several things and wont have to make my rent payment next month, I am very excited about that. It seems the “un prim” items are selling better there.

I have one more picture for you. I had ordered this cute bunny from Laura of Cave Creek Primitives, I saw him and he was so, well, he was so me and I had to have him. I love Cave Creek, a lot of her designs remind me of the dolls I use to make before I started getting all pattern crazy. I think we share the same style. If you are not familiar with her please do visit. Just click on the link here or on her name.  Isn’t the bunny just adorable!

Well, I believe I have taken away enough of your time today. I hope you are well and finding a little stitching time!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Bunny Hop Swap

I participated in a swap Wendy was hosting over at her blog Ravenwood Whimzies and it was so much fun. Thank you Wendy as usual you were a fantastic host!!!

So my partner was Lisa from The Moonlit Stitch, she spoiled me!!! Here is what I got:

IMG_2189

Aren’t they adorable!!! I snapped a quick picture before leaving for work, when I get home I will put them in their cozy spots and take more pictures because this one does not do them justice. Lisa was an awesome swap partner!!  Thank you Lisa!!

Here is what I sent Lisa:

IMG_2200

I drew up the shelf bunny on the fly and I was telling Lisa he is one of a kind because I misplaced (I think I threw it away) the pattern I drew up for him: (Don’t you love the rag runner behind him – my old friend Janet makes them, she is very talented)

IMG_2198IMG_2199

And this little bunny is also my own but I did make a couple them so she has a similar friend out there.

IMG_2190

I enjoyed participating in the swap and love all of my goodies. It is so nice to meet such talented crafters out there and to be able to display their creations in your house.

I hope you are having an awesome week and finding a little stitching time!!!
