It’s all about food!!

My husband is an amazing guy. Not only has he put up with my attitude all these years but he has always helped around the house and with the kids. I hit the jack pot with him. He does the dishes, the laundry, you name it, and yes he even changed many a diaper.  One thing he does really well is cook. It is not always the healthiest but I guarantee it will always the best. He has has been cooking up some goodies for us lately. He has been sad about loosing Pablo and he cooks when he is sad. This was taken a couple days before he took Pablo to the vet.

With all the cooking he has perfected his recipe for Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, we ate 3 of them until he was happy with it. I was happy with the first one but keep them coming I say. He says he wont make us eat one for a little while but I think my son and I wouldn’t complain if we ate it every night. I told him he just needs to learn how to do those fancy leaves and such on the top. I took a couple pictures of two of them – the first one is not the whole pie because my son and I couldn’t wait. As you can see my husband likes cheese.

We took a trip out to Whole Foods to get some things for some recipes he wanted to make. He was like a little kid in a candy store. If we would have had more money no telling what he would have come home with. He picked up some items to make Steamed Dumplings (sorry no picture of the dumplings, the camera was upstairs and no one wanted to leave the dumplings to go get it).

Also in the picture, the little chubby short bottle that is shaped like a bear or something is Num Num Sauce. Yes Num Num Sauce, it is made in Durham. My husband likes to try local products. This is definitely one we will be getting again. He made chicken wings and coated them with the Num Num Sauce. So yummy!

After Whole Foods we took the kids to Gigi’s Cupcakes. They seemed to enjoy them. The girls both had friends sleep over this weekend so they got them cupcakes also. We ended up getting Midnight Magic, Pumpkin Spice, Red Velvet, and Wedding Cake. I was actually good and only ate half of mine, and it took me two days. The kids on the other hand didn’t take very long to devour there cupcakes.

I couldn’t do a post without including little Louise. I found these little hat ornaments 90% off at a store and could not resist getting some, I am hoping I will be able to use them on a doll. Louise was not happy wearing the hat for sure.

I have some news to tell you about and I am really excited. We go to this local shop in Fuquay Varina called K n’B Marketplace, they have antiques, collectibles, and even a coffee shop. I have always said I wanted to rent a spot and never have. They had one empty spot, a nice size bookshelf available and the price was reasonable so I went for it. Starting March 1st I will be putting all of my work into filling my shelf. I am not only going to  put hand made items in it but other items and yes you know it one shelf will probably be fabric. I am very excited. I am hoping if it goes well I will eventually be able to get a bigger area.

I did pick up a few items while we were there. I got a basket, a little doll fishing basket, a couple patterns (from my friend Donna’s booth), a little tin laundry soap box and my husband got an old jar.

I have been working on a bunch of new items and I think I will save it for another post since this one is so long already.

I hope you are having a great week so far and finding a little stitching time.

You are definitely a lucky and blessed gal...while my hubby is always great, he doesn't cook and seems all thumbs in the kitchen - lol. I'm so excited for your new venture! Hope it turns out to be very profitable for you!

Hi, Jen:
I wish you lots and lots of good luck with your space. I had such a good time 20 years ago doing my space.
The location is EVERYTHING so I hope yours gets lots of traffic.
