Easter Blessings

I hope everyone was able to enjoy their Easter Sunday. We had a nice family day together. I actually did a little yard work because it was so pretty and we had a nice family walk. I had to work so we put off dinner until tonight, which was so yummy!!

My friend Donna made us cookies and they were delicious. Natalie snapped a photo of them before they were devoured.

On Saturday I received a my Easter Special copy of Australian Homespun magazine. I wish it would come sooner there were so many projects in it I could have done or would have wanted to do, lol.  I received two issues on the same day so I guess the shipment must have gotten hung up coming through customs. That’s okay there is always next year.

I was so excited when as I looked through because there were so many cute projects.  I decided I had to do one for the kids for Easter morning.  It is a little bag by Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches.

I let the kids pick out there fabrics, well Alice and Gordon did, Natalie wasn’t very excited. They are not huge but since the kids do not believe in the Easter Bunny anymore (can you believe it – whole different blog post on that soon) it just needs to hold a  little candy and a gift card or itunes card. I also added their embroidered names on the back side.

I didn’t leave the hubby and me out, we had a nice bowl or candy too. Even though the only thing left in it today was the Twizzlers and I think the both of us only had a couple pieces of candy. This is okay I don’t need to be eating it anyway.

Gordon’s birthday get together at the bowling alley was a big hit and the sleepover afterwards went very well.  We actually had 6 kids in the house all night and it was the quietest it has been in a long time. Each one of them had one friend stay over and they all kept to themselves and played well. I couldn’t believe how well behaved everyone was.

He was so excited receiving his present. Thank to all my sales at Christmas I was able to get him a laptop and it has been hiding since then.  He is always saying he wished my laptop had a mouse so we made him open a mouse first and said that since we couldn't afford a laptop for him we got him a mouse to use on mine. He fell for it. I wrapped the laptop in a huge box and he was so surprised. I know it is a huge present but my kids are very good and they get one big gift either for Christmas or their birthday so his Christmas wont be very exciting this year.

I am still doing my booth even though I am having some concerns. The rent is outrageous and I believe is slightly too inflated, I can’t decide if it is going to be worth it. I still have 4 months I am committed to doing it. I am thinking I should have kept the shelf instead, it was easier to swallow that rent.  My other concern is when I moved the items from the shelf to the booth I thought 3-4 items that weren’t there had sold but they did not and now I am concerned about loosing items. And of course they were the handmade items, uggh. I am going to go in this week and check to see if maybe they were put in another booth which is probably what happen. I can say long ago before I realized these types of shops had different vendors I am guilty of putting something down in another location. Hopefully this is what happened.

My Mother-in-law who lives in Maryland had a birthday last week.  When I had visited them last year she took me to one of their local quilt shops and she really took a liking to the Batiks and Mckenna Ryan designs so I did up one of the blocks and attached it to a canvas. I saw this done at the shop we went to and it looked great. She can either hang it or put it on a stand. They called and said they found a great stand for it and she really liked it. I was very nervous about the project because the pieces were so very tiny. To my surprise I actually enjoyed the project, I hope to get better with the technique. You can see the invisible thread because of the flash of the camera but in person it is not that visible (thank goodness!!!).
