I'm thinking again.

This post has nothing to do with crafting, I will warn you ahead of time. I just felt like rambling again and thought since I may have a few of you that will read it I will do it. I was thinking today, (uh oh, better watch out!).  Have you noticed how easily we (I mean the world) seem to "forget" about "big things" when another "big thing" happens.
The earthquake in Haiti, when is the last time someone has talked of that? We have at my house only because one of our neighbors has family that was affected, but I wonder if we didn't know someone affected would we still think of them.
The Chilean miners are free, well at least free from the mine. But, it will be a long time until they are free from the ordeal. Will "we" think about them as much in a month or so?
The large toxic sludge spill in Hungary. 9 people have died so far, but I am afraid the people left in those villages don't have a chance for a healthy life with all of those toxinx in their homes, fields, everywhere. The news is hard to find on that which only happened 10 days ago. The people who live in those villages will be affected by this for the rest of their lives. But "we" will not.
Is the attitude "we are not involved so it shouldn't concern us" why we forget or is it human nature that we forget so we are strong enough to take on the next.
I feel I do not "forget" about these things because I don't care, I feel I "forget" so I have enough strength to care about the next "big thing".
Maybe these events happen and affect us in a certain way just as someone comes into our lives and affects us in a certain way. When the person has "affected" us in the way God has planned it is time for them to exit our lives. I feel it is the same with these events, sure we care but they have had their affect on us and now it is time for us to move on. We move on but we still care. We don't dwell on the sadness of the event, we learn from the event.
So, that is what I was thinking about. What are you thinking about?

Oh, jennifer, my thoughts exactly. We care because'we' on our own only have a limited capacity. We care, we do what we can, we recall when we can but we also have a duty of care to ourselves and our loved ones. There will always be natural disasters and man made ones and we need to keep perspective for ourselves to deal with the next one, so yes, we do need to move on.
Take care of yourself and your family Jennifer,we will collectively care for the rest!
Hugs
Sue

I feel the bombardment of sadness on the news has a way of desensitizing us. It helps me seek the Lord and be thankful for all my blessings while remembering those affected in my prayers. Mu husband watches Fox almost all day which is why I'm on the computer so much....lol....

When something happens in a far away place on the other side of the world we all have empathy and sadness. We even try to do something to relieve the suffering or need for comfort. Prayer is the only way to continue to help those far away people with problems. God is there even if we have a difficult time keeping our concern focused.
To keep my sanity I rarely watch the day to day news. Life is too short and too difficult to take on the problems of all humanity.
Now,I will end this post with. "God bless you all everyday!"
