Mama’s got a Brand New Bag!

I am not sure if some of you were reading or remember but when I first started blogging I had mentioned the kids and I always had Friday night sew-in. Last night was almost like that, but Gordon decided not to join us (I guess for a 10 year old boy Xbox with friends is more important). The girls and I got a little creative and came up with a cute little bag. Nothing fancy, no pockets, no bells, no whistles, just something to throw everything into.

I had gone to the thrift shop yesterday and found some heavy weight fabric that was too cute to pass up, so we used that and a little wool for the applique and some of my stash. Natalie and I designed the bag and Alice picked out the colors and cut the flower and leaves.

I mentioned my trip to the thrift store and here are some other items I found. This cool iron. The chicken/rooster thing moves so you can open it.

This cool fabric, I believe it is supposed to be a table cloth, but I probably wont use it as that.

005

Some wood projects for the kids to paint.

This little bitty chicken to go with my bigger one I have like it, two pictures and a cool old Hershey’s kiss can.

And all these goodies! You can see they are sitting on the purse fabric.

I have been getting some great guesses on the fat quarters. Funny thing is I showed the picture to my husband and asked him to guess. I have to tell you I thought he cheated because he was only one off. He amazes me!

Keep the guesses coming and have a wonderful weekend! Don’t forget to find a little stitching time!

All my love this little bag. The flower has been nice with these colors as well placed. You have little girls with such good taste and wonderful hands. Congratulations to all three. I understand the child as well because my child would have preferred the Xbox too, ja, ja, ja
I have some handles very similar to those of the small bag. At some point I'll make a bag.
