The First Taste of Summer

The kids had fun this weekend. They got the first taste of summer and were able to run through the sprinkler while I was sweating bullets cutting the grass.  Saturday was 93 and Sunday was 90.  We took a couple pictures but couldn’t get them all in one picture.

This picture of Gordon shocked me, he looks so much older.  The hubby and I were talking about it and he says we have a glimpse of what he will look like when he is 16.

100_1647   I started a grandmothers flower garden.  I have always wanted to make one and have now just got the chance to start.  I am only doing a single row but I think it is going to be so pretty. I scanned it with the basting stitches still in it but I think you can tell what it will look like.  I was stitching on it the other night at work and a dispatcher walked by and said “Oh, you should be done with that in about 3 years.”  I thanked him and carried on with hopes that it may only take me 2.  I am using 3/4" hexagons.

hpqscan0001 Well bye for now, I have to get ready to take Alice to the doctor.  She is losing her voice and says her throat hurts.  I guess we haven’t been sick for several weeks so the time has come!!!

Hi Jennifer - I like the hexagon - how big will it end up being? Sorry to say but my grandmother's flower garden is in it's 2nd year - going on 3 - I should start having birthday parties for it.

Oh no Lynn, don't tell me that. I would love to see what you have done so far. I have not planned a size as of yet. I have enough fabric to go for a while. Maybe we can celebrate our parties together!!!
